Australia Bans Flights From India

 - Sakshi Post

The Australian government announced that all flights from India will be temporarily banned up to May 15 due to a surge of Covid cases.

Scott Morrison, the Australian Prime Minister, said on Tuesday that the suspension would remain until at least May 15 due to heavy risks of commuters from India.

Australia has announced that it would reduce the number of commuters from India and other red-zone countries.

To prevent the virus from entering the country, Australia closed its borders to non-citizens and permanent residents in March. All returning travelers undergo a two-week quarantine at their own expense.

This quarantine system helped Australia to contain the virus at a low rate with 29,000 cases and 910 deaths.

It is also known that the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, and Indonesia have all banned citizens from India.
