Case File Against TPCC Revanth Reddy For Causing Traffic Disruption

 - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A complaint has been filed against TPCC's new president; A Revanth Reddy at the Jubilee Hills police station on Thursday.

It may be recollected that during Revanth Reddy's swearing-in ceremony at the Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, the Congress staged a large rally. People in large numbers gathered there which was completely against the COVID protocol and the entire stretch of the Nampally Road and several main roads in the city were blocked due to the traffic jam caused. The Gandhi Bhavan Road was already congested with vehicles belonging to the Congress and Revanth Reddy's supporters. Police have filed charges against Jubilee Hills police officer Yakanna for allegedly blocking roads and obstructing traffic in numerous locations.

Citizens and office-goers faced traffic issues as a result of the police failing to take preventive steps during Revanth Reddy's swearing-in ceremony. Information was hastily released in the afternoon about the event. It is common practice to issue restrictions and traffic diversions prior to such events, but this time it was overlooked. Around midday, a large number of cars were parked in Abids, Koti, Nampally, and the surrounding areas. The traffic police, who had been alerted, then issued a notice for traffic diversions to Gandhi Bhavan, which proved futile.

Meanwhile, Begum Bazar police have also booked a criminal case against former Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, Revanth Reddy, Anil Yadav and others under relevant sections of IPC, violation of Disaster Management Act and City Police Act for the rallies taken out despite the police department denied permission.
