WTC Terror Attacks: Movies Based on 9/11 in US

 - Sakshi Post

Exactly, two decades ago on this day, 11 September 2001, Al-Qaeda terrorists used commercial planes as missiles and crashed into New York’s World Trade Centre. The September 11 attacks also known as 9/11 were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by al-Qaeda against the USA. Nearly 3,000 people were killed and many have been injured in the terror attack.

On the September 11 morning,  19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes flying from the northeastern United States to California. Three groups of five hijackers and one group of four hijackers were formed and each group had a hijacker who had completed flight training and took over the control of the aircraft.  The main aim of the attack was to crash each plane into a famous American building causing mass casualties.

American Airlines Flight 11 was the first plane to hit its target. At 8:46 AM, it was flown into the World Trade Center's North Tower in Lower Manhattan. United Airlines Flight 175 hit the World Trade Center's South Tower seventeen minutes later, at 9:03 AM. Within an hour and 42 minutes, both 110-story skyscrapers had collapsed.

A third jet, American Airlines Flight 77, was hijacked over Ohio after taking off from Dulles International Airport. It collided with the west side of the Pentagon (the American military's headquarters) in Arlington County, Virginia, at 9:37 AM, causing a partial collapse of the building's side. United Airlines Flight 93, the fourth and last flight, was headed for Washington, D.C. The airliner's passengers attempted to regain control of the plane from the hijackers, but the flight was diverted from its intended destination and crashed into a field outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania at 10:03 AM. Flight 93's intended target was either the White House or the United States Capitol, according to investigators.

Now, 20 years on, here are some documentaries and films that have been based on September 9/11 attacks.
