Hyderabad: Constable Ends Life Over Debts in Malakpet

In a shocking incident, a police constable working at Madannapet police station allegedly ended his life by slitting his throat with a blade. He committed suicide at his residence in Malakpet on Monday night. 

The deceased was identified as B Abhilash Naik.  The 33-years-old constable was working at the Madannapet police station. He was living with his family at Baladanamma Basthi in Malakpet.

Abhilash is survived by his wife and two sons. He got married in 2011 and in 2014, he got the constable job. He was working at Madannapet police station in Hyderabad. 

According to reports, two days ago, he left his wife and their two sons at his in-law's house in Kodad and returned to Hyderabad.

Malakpet Sub-Inspector SI Subhash said that,"On May 3rd morning, Abhilash went to his duty and returned home at 3 pm. After reaching home, he had his lunch and went to the first floor room to sleep. The mother of Abhilash said his brother Prabhu Naik who returned home at 10 pm, went to call the former for dinner."

Prabhu knocked on the door but Abhilash didn't open his door for a long time. He, along with a neighbour, broke the latch and found him lying dead in a pool of blood.

The SI further added that, "Abhilash slit his throat with a blade. During the preliminary investigation, we found that he had borrowed money from several people. We suspect that the financial problems as the reason behind his suicide. We didn't find any suicide note."

The body of the deceased has been shifted to the Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy. The police are investigating in all possible angles to know the exact reason behind the death of Abhilash.
