Director Ram Gopal Varma's latest release Officer failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office. The film received mixed reviews from audiences and critics. And Officer has become the biggest flop in RGV-Nagarjuna's combo. The disappointment was huge for both the actors as well as fans because expectations were riding high owing to the fact that the director-actor's previous collaboration 'Siva' was a super duper hit.
Latest news doing the rounds suggest that Officer turned out to be a disaster because of the RGV-Pawan Kalyan tussle. We all know about the Sri Reddy controversy. When Sri Reddy spoke about casting couch in Tollywood, she said RGV had instigated her to speak against Pawan Kalyan in public. Sri Reddy had used abusive words against Power star Pawan Kalyan also showed her middle finger to him, while abusing his mom.
It is a known fact that Pawan Kalyan is an actor who enjoys a massive fan following across the world among all the Tollywood top stars.
Earlier even Kathi Mahesh had made objectionable comments against Pawan Kalyan to gain publicity. Finally he settled the issue with Pawan fans because he got numerous theats from Agnyaathavaasi actor's fans. Now, with RGV taking a panga with Pawan, the talk in filmnagar circles is rife with rumours that the RGV-Pawan tiff could have led to the lukewarm response to Officer. Critics, on the other hand feel that Officer didn't have the spark that other RGV movies had.
