Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s cousin is going to contest from the Peshawar constituency of enemy-state Pakistan in their General Elections. She has also been a councilor, and has already filed her nomination for this election.
Being his paternal cousin, Shah Rukh and his cousin are pretty close- with her visiting him twice and their families being in touch. During a press event, he mentioned how he wants to take his kids to see Peshawar and called the people there ‘warm and welcoming’ too.
“My aim is to work for women empowerment,” she was quoted as saying. “I would like to focus on the problems in my constituency.”
"We have a political legacy attached to the family," says her brother. The Awami National Party (ANP) had also considered Jehan for a reserved seat for women but unfortunately she could not make it to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the report by The Express Tribune said.
