Don’t Bribe Cops, Cyberabad Traders Told

Hyderabad: Cracking down corruption in the city, the Cyberabad police commissionerate has warned the owners of Hotels, restaurants, wine shops, bars, lodges, Gaming zones, pubs, parlours, cafes, petty shops against offering bribes to cops.

According to a survey conducted by DGP M. Mahender Reddy, around 391 cops are involved in corruption and have allegedly collecting bribes from shop owners. These officers collect bribes either for themselves or for their superiors on a monthly basis.

Districts like Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Suryapet have topped the list with a majority of cops involved in graft. Over 40 cops in Suryapet, 35 in Karimnagar and 29 in Nizamabad have been accused of corruption and Hyderabad stands in the last position with 24 corrupt cops.

Sounding an alerting on the issue, the Cyberabad commisionerate has asked the hotel owners not to bribe any police officer. If any police officer asks for bribe,  businessmen can lodge a complaint on Whatsapp to the Commissionerate number 94906174442 or mail the complaint to
