Didn’t Chandrababu Resort To Horse Trading Too?

YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Ganapavaram: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy promised to help the pisciculture farmers once his party comes to power and added that over the last four years these farmers were facing lots od hardships. Speaking at a massive public meeting organised as part of his mass outreach programme Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he said that under the YSRCP rule they would supply power to pisciculture farmers at Rs 1.50 per unit. He also promised to do away with the middlemen in agriculture as well as piscisulture.

YS Jagan recalled meeting several local people and farmers during his padayatra in the district who had poured out their woes. He said that the farmers sought minimum support price for their produce and condemned that had caused a lot of distress to the farmers. The farmers said that the government was not bothered about their problems. "There was no water for two crops in a year, there's acute shortage of drinking water and borewell water was salty. In such a situation it is impossible to breed prawns," they said. The farmers pointed out that there were no quality testing labs set up by the government and that the private labs were cheating farmers," he said.

The YSRCP Chief remembered the golden period under former Chief Minister late Dr YS Rajashekara Reddy regime when electricity charges were just 90 paise per unit for pisciculture units. He said it was now Rs 3.80 per unit. He promised to solve the power issues once the people's party took charge. "While the per unit charge would be Rs 1.50 for farming, it would be reduced from Rs 7 per unit to rs 5 per unit for ice factories and processing units, ancillary units of pisciculture," he said.

The Leader of Opposition promised to develop food processing units across the coastal belt of the state and also remove the middlemen. After interacting with the locals, YS Jagan came to know that alcoholism and housing were the main issues and said that his party will address these issues and help the needy.

YS Jagan said yet another problem was Kolleru. He promised to appoint a person who has complete knowledge about the issue as MLC for this region. "Presently the issue is pending with SC and it would be sorted out if everyone works towards it with sincerity," he said. He also promised to resurvey Kolleru. He said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had convienently forgotten about people and their issues. The AP CM was enjoying the company of BJP. After the Special Category Status demand gained momentum, the TDP Chief changed his stance and has been opposing BJP, he said.

The YSRCP President said that over the last four years the state was ruled with false promises and by misleading people. He wondered if TTD priest's fight was being seen as illegal then how could Chandrababu's Visakhapatnam deeksha be called Dharma Poratam (fight for justice). Chandrbabu felt bad when MLAs were being horse-traded in Karnataka, then what was that he did with 23 YSRCP MLAs. "Isn't that called horse trading?" he asked.

YS Jagan said that Chandrababu was misleading people and betraying them. "While in the morning tweet they say that Rs 13,000 crores loans have been waived, by evening in a meeting it would become Rs 25,000 crores. A person who was not able to construct two lakh houses in four years was promising to construct 19 lakh houses in next one year. Is this possible?" he asked.
