Hyderabad: CPI Central Committee Secretary Narayana expressed his concern over the growing number of boat accidents in Andhra Pradesh and said that boating was being dominated by a mafia in the state. He further said that the ruling TDP government had failed to curb the boat accidents. Speaking to media here today, he demanded that the government should set up an inquiry committee headed by a senior IAS officer to look into the incident. He also sought an ex-gratia amount of Rs.10 lakhs to be given to the family of the deceased.
AP State CPI General Secretary Ramakrishna criticised State BJP Chief Kanna Lakshminarayana and said that Kanna had mentioned that the Centre had fulfilled 75 per cent promises made during bifurcation. "This lie was made even before Kanna became the BJP Chief in AP, and now after taking over the post how many more lies are we likely to hear from him," he wondered. He added that the BJP leadership bestowed the post on Kanna for his skillful lying.
