Mumbai: As rare as this is, it is indeed true. A groom tied the knot with two women at the same venue on the same day. This incident was reported from a village in Nanded district in Maharashtra. It was stated that Sainath Urekar of Samarala village was to marry both sisters Rajashri and Drupadabai Shirigeri from Biloli village of Kodgyaal Tehseel.

Villagers said that the bride-to-be, Rajashri, put forth a condition that she would marry Sainath only if he agreed to get hitched to her older sister as well. Sainath bowed down to her condition and married the sisters. The wedding invite and a few pictures of the event went viral. If you thought the guy could have his cake and eat it too, you can't be more mistaken.

It's pertinent to point out that the older girl Drupadabai is mentally challenged. Her sister Rajashri thought that if she were to get married to someone else and faced difficulties, then she would be in a helpless situation. Hence, she came up with this ingenious idea.

Although bigamy is an offence as per Hindu Marriage Act, former Congress MLA Rao Saheb Antapurkar attended the wedding and blessed the couple.
