Biopic on former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy will soon go on to the floors. Named Yatra, the film logo and details of the production were officially announced today in Hyderabad. The producers Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy will be making the prestigious film under 70 mm Entertainments banner and it would be directed by Mahi V Raghav.
The biopic which will go on to floors from April 9, will feature popular Malayalam actor Mammoty in the lead role. In fact the National award winning actor has also confirmed the news by mentioning about Yatra and that he would be acting in a direct Telugu film after more than 25 years.
The first poster of Yatra that was released mentioned: "He wanted to leave a footprint in history. Instead he left one in the hearts of people." The film logo has also been creatively design as a footprint and seems to have an instant mass appeal. It seems that the film will cover the life and times of great mass leader late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
The highlight of the film would be different aspects of the late chief minister's padayatra. It would also deal with his people-friendly welfare schemes and governance and how that has helped him to leave an impression in the public.
Director Mahi V Raghav had earlier made films like Patashala and Anando Brahma. Details of other cast and crew will be announced shortly.
