The Nampally court took a serious view of Andhra Jyothi managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna's non-appearance before the court in a defamation case and issued non-bailable warrant against him. The case pertains to the defamation case filed by YSRCP leader and Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy in connection with the wrong reportage of YS Jagan-Narendra Modi meeting. Apart from Radhakrishna, editor K Srinivas, publisher Seshagiri Rao and four others have to appear before the court.
On Monday, the court rejected Radhakrishna's plea seeking exemption from appearance before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. in this case. On Tuesday, he was to appear before the court. However, Radhakrishna gave a miss to the court hearing.Taking a serious view of his absence, the court issued a non-bailable warrant. The other six persons, appeared before the court on Tuesday, The court directed them to furnish a personal bond for Rs 10000.
It may be recalled that The Telugu daily Andhra Jyothi had carried out several objectionable articles and news stories on Leader of the Opposition and President of the YSRCP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy when the latter had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi sometime ago to highlight the demand of special category status to Andhra Pradesh and to take up the issue of drought in the state. Managalagiri MLA and YSRCP leader Alla Ramakrishna Reddy filed a defamation case against MD Radhakrishna, publisher Venkata Seshagiri Rao, Editor Srinivas and few others for the objectionable reports.
