The developments following Revanth Reddy's resignation from the TDP and his entry into the Congress are being watched by analysts in both the Telugu states. Though a question mark hangs over the bye-election in Kodangal considering the fact that his letter of resignation is yet to reach the Speaker of the Telangana State Legislative Assembly, the ruling TRS is gearing up to wrest the seat from Revanth Reddy.

Harish Rao is said to have been entrusted with the task of strengthening the TRS base in the constituency, according to reliable sources. It is learnt that he would visit Kodangal once the current assembly session gets over. Already, the ruling party is said to have taken up caste-wise surveys of the local leaders and prospective entrants into the party. Clearly, the TRS leadership is out to prove a point to both Revanth Reddy as well as the Congress party.
