MUMBAI: After facing wrath from viewers, the Sony Tv has apologized for disrespecting Hindu Ruler and Maratha Warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Koun Banega Crorepati (KBC) season 11 hosted by Big-B Amitabh Bachchan. The Twitter of KBC flooded with furious with thousands and thousands of tweets when the host Big B referred the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji as “Shivaji” only.

“There was an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Wednesday’s KBC episode, due to inadvertence. We deeply regret the same and being mindful of the sentiments of our viewers have carried a scroll expressing regret during our episode yesterday. #KBC11”-the Sony Tv posted the apology through its Twitter handle. The trouble started during the show which was televised on 6 of this month when Amitabh Bachchan asked the participant, 'Which of these rulers was the contemporary of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb?' and the options were Maharana Pratap, Rana Sanga, Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Shivaji. The reference of the host, “Shivaji” without adding Chhatrapati or Maharaj to it has made people furious.

The Twitteratis poured their tweets by pointing out at Sony Tv for hurting the sentiments of people of Maharashtra and also other Hindus in the country. They called to boycott KBC 11 season. `#Boycott_KBC_Sony Tv’ Twitteratis posted in the Sony Tv’s Twitter account.

Another Twitterati wrote, “ #Boycott_KBC_SonyTv…This is painful.... and shameful too. This is what we are lacking,  Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did so much and we can’t even respect his work, what is coming generation going to learn from this?”
