Srinagar: After two months of staying away from public eyes, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah's picture has come up on social media.
Media reports suggest that the photo was released by Omar, but we could not verify the claim independently.
After the Centre's move to revoke Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two Union Territories, most of the top level and second rung separatist politicians have been taken into preventive custody.
Mainstream leaders including two former chief ministers -- Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti -- have been either detained or placed under house arrest.
A leading portal reported that Omar had pronounced that he will not shave his beard until he was released from detention.
