New Delhi: Known for voicing women's issues, Congress general secretary for UP (East) Priyanka Gandhi shared a picture on her Twitter handle visibly excited on being flown by a women pilot.
She was campaigning in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur Sikri for UP Congress chief Raj Babbar.
Interestingly, in her first political speech, she began her address by saying 'Beheno and Bhaiyon', which marked a break from the tradition of calling brothers first and sisters second. This was pointed out by Congress Silchar MP Sushmita Dev, to which Priyanka replied saying, "And I thought no one noticed."
The Congress party is trying to woo women voters through a lot of poll promises which includes 33 per cent reservation for women in the Parliament. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has also promised reservation for women in jobs and education.
Priyanka has hit the ruling BJP of neglecting women and youth during her speech and said instead of speaking about India and what it had done for its youth was talking about Pakistan.
“They talk about Pakistan. If BJP is patriotic then do not talk about Pakistan but tell us what you are doing for India,” she said.
