More Trouble For TDP As Case Registered Against AP Speaker

Karimnagar: The ruling TDP government in Andhra Pradesh is facing scams and court notices on a daily basis.

In the latest development a court in Karimnagar accepted a petition against AP speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao for violating election norms during the 2014 state polls. The speaker allegedly told a TV channel that he spent close to Rs 12 crore during the 2014 elections. Terming the massive expenditure as a violation of election code of conduct and based on Sivaprasad's own admission, a senior YSRCP leader from Karimnagar Singireddy Bhaskar Reddy approached the High Court. The latter directed the Karimnagar Chief Judicial Magistrate to register the complaint and initiate necessary proceedings.

Subsequently, on Tuesday notices were issued to speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao to appear in the Karimnagar court on April 20.
