Malkajgiri is one of the largest parliamentary constituencies in the country and several key leaders are extremely eager to contest from here.

Sarve Satyanarayana (Congress), Revanth Reddy (TDP), Jaya Prakash Narayana (Lok Satta) and Nageswar(Independent) are the key leaders contesting from here at present.

The constituency houses large number of educated voters and middle class voters. It was formed in 2008 as part of the delimitation done then. About 90 percent of voters here are middle class voters. Union minister Sarve Satyanarayana won from here in 2009 elections.

Most of the voters here are those who came from Seemandhra region and settled here. About 70 percent of voters are here from Seemandhra region.

Medchal, Secunderabad Cantonment (SC), Malkajgiri, Qutubullapur, Kukatpalli, Uppal and LB Nagar assembly constituencies come under the key parliamentary constituency.
