Make 20 Defectors Resign, Seek Fresh Mandate: Peddireddy Dares Chandrababu

Chittoor: YSR Congress Party senior leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy challenged AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to seek a fresh mandate in 20 Assembly constituencies from where the YSR Congress MLAs had defected to the ruling TDP

He said Chandrababu was under the wrong impression that the TDP won Nandyal Assembly by-elections with the support of the people. If it is true, the TDP leader should go for elections in all the 20 Assembly segments. This will be a true referendum on his governance, he added.

Peddireddy alleged that Chandrababu was wasting the time in the name of Jalaharathi programme at a time when various sections of the people were suffering. The TDP leader ridiculed YS Rajasekhara Reddy's dream of supplying free power to the agriculture sector during the Congress rule. Now, he is showing concern on farmers only to grab their votes. Not a single irrigation project has been completed in the three-year rule of the TDP, he said. Chandrababu concentrated only on Pattiseema and Purushottamapatnam projects for monetary gains, he said.
