Kiran, Naidu promoting alcoholism in state?

Kiran, Naidu promoting alcoholism in state? - Sakshi Post

"It's a known fact that there are statewide protests against liquor shops and over alcohol consumption near the shops on the roads. However, instead of putting an end to it and finding a solution to the problem, the state government is planning to make seating arrangements for people who wish to drink at the shops. What should we call such leaders?" asked Sharmila while holding a public meeting as part of her 'Maro Praja Prastanam' padayatra in Vizianagaram.

While Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy can't think beyond such silly ideas, excise minister K. Parthasarathy has gone one step forward to defend their decision saying the move would prevent people from consuming alcohol on roads, Sharmila observed.

Elaborating with an example, the YSRCP leader said the situation is similar to the indifferent response of the police. "Suppose we call the police to complain about robbery only to told to hand over the locker keys to the thieves as the house is already looted!"

"By deploying police at wine stores to stop them having alcohol on the road, these leaders are providing security at the shops to ensure they drink peacefully. Due to the irresponsibility of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, there is no drinking water in the state. However, there's no dearth of liquor shops in the state. While leader of the main opposition, Chandrababu Naidu visited women who had suffered because of their husband's alcohol addiction, instead of banning the spirit, Naidu had said he'll cut its cost to make it more affordable once he gets power!"

Sharmila's padayatra completed 192 days on Thursday. She resumed her foot march from Chettupalli, Narsipatnam in Vizianagaram. She will enter Chodavaram constituency at Velamkayapalem today. Sharmila will break for lunch at Riolugunta in the afternoon. After the break, she is expected to cover Kottakota and Dondapudi regions.
