It’s raining rewards on PV Sindhu

Hyderabad: Shuttler PV Sindhu won silver at Rio Olympics and hearts at home. The total cash rewards announced for PV Sindhu so far running over Rs 7 crore. Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday announced a gamut of rewards for shuttler PV Sindhu, who won silver in women’s singles at Rio Olympics.

The list of rewards includes Rs 3 crore cash, 1,000 square yards plot in Amaravati and a Group-I cadre job. The State government has also announced Rs 50 lakh cash prize for Sakshi Malik, who won bronze and being the first woman wrestler from India to bag an Olympic medal.

Telangana government has already announced Rs 1 crore reward for PV Sindhu. Delhi Government has announced Rs 2 crore prize. Badminton Association of India (BAI) also announced Rs 50 lakh for Sindhu and Rs 10 lakh for Gopichand. Madhya Pradesh government has announced Rs 50 lakh for Sindhu.

AP Government has also announced a reward of Rs 50 lakh to Pullela Gopichand, coach of PV Sindhu. The government will honour PV Sindhu and Gopichand before the Assembly sessions.

Senior actor and YSRCP leader Vijaychandar has announced that he would gift two acres to PV Sindhu. YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will hand over the land documents to Sindhu, said Vijaychandar. “The land is located at Karakapatla near the farm house of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao. We’ll register the land on Sindhu’s name and our party President YS Jagan will hand over the registered documents to Sindhu,” said Vijaychandar.
