India-Pak Will Fight Two Battles This Sunday In London

Indian vs Pakistan in Cricket and Hockey on Sunday  - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: This Sunday, everyone in the Indian sub-continent will be on the edge of their seats and everyone knows why. Born out of a bloody partition in 1947, traditional rivals India and Pakistan will play in the final of the ICC Trophy. This will be the second time they will be clashing in the journey. In the group matches, India trounced Pakistan and this will be the second face-off.

But, less known is another face-off between the two rivals - on the same day and in the same city. Interestingly, the two nations will also battle it out in Hockey World League (HWL) semi-finals on Sunday in London.

The cricket match will start at 3 pm while the Indian hockey team, led by Manpreet Singh, will take on Pakistan at 6.30 pm.

Defending champions India had got the better of the rivals in the league stage of the ongoing tournament. Captain Virat Kohli has already declared that nothing extra is needed to get the same result despite the turnaround by Sarfraz Ahmed's men since then. Meanwhile, Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir said, "The India team relies on Virat Kohli and he will be under pressure because it's his first big tournament final as a captain. There's no doubt that his wicket will give us an advantage.”

So, brace up for an edge-of-the-seat experience this Sunday.
