I am ending my indefinite fast on request of Jagan: Vijayamma - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress honorary president YS Vijayamma’s hunger strike was foiled by the Guntur police who raided her fasting camp last night and took her to the General Hospital.

Later, Vijayamma continued her fast in the Hospital but called off her fast after YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy called her from Chanchalguda jail with the permission of officials and requested her to give the fast as her health had deteriorated.

Speaking to reporters in Gannavaram, Vijayamma said that her son Jagan will go on indefinite fast seeking justice for Seemandhra people. "I am ending my indefinite fast on request of Jagan," she told reporters here while returning to Hyderabad from Guntur.

"Bifurcation of AP is unfortunate and is injustice to Seemandhra region. The creation of Telangana would result into many complicated issues," Vijayamma added.

Accusing Congress of taking the decision to divide the state in a haste, Vijayamma said various welfare and development programmes will come to a standstill if division is allowed. "I wonder how government would be able to settle the pressing issues like sharing of water, development of irrigation projects," the honorary president asked.

Referring to the CWC resolution, which proposed Hyderabad would be the joint capital of proposed Telangana and other regions--Rayalaseema and Andhra--for ten years, Vijayamma said Seemandhra region would face the fund crunch due to such move.

She appealed to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu to resign and lead the agitation against bifurcation.
