Four Major Developments in AP Assembly On Friday

AP Legislative Assembly - Sakshi Post

A day after ruling TDP created a ruckus to divert the attention from the issue of AgriGold victims, the government continued with its time-killing tactics. Here are the four major developments on Friday:

YSRCP's Adjournment Motion For a Debate On Cash For Vote: The YSRCP sought an adjournment and a debate on the Cash For Vote scame under rule No 63. The YSRCP insisted that the question hour be suspended and the issue be taken up for discussion. The speaker disallowed the motion forcing the YSRCP members to troop into the well and raise slogans. The speaker adjourned the house thrice.

TDP resorts to verbal abuse: The day unfolded with TDP rabble rouser MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao hurling invective after invective on Opposition leader YS Jagan MOhan Reddy. Bonda was supported by TDP MLAs Kuna Ravikumar, Yarapatineni Srinivasa Rao and others. Senior MLA Gollapalli Surya Rao too used harsh words on YS Jagan. At one stage, TDP's controversial MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar hurled abuses on YSRCP, which were countered by Chandragiri MLA and YSRCP leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy. This led to tension in the house.

TDP Tries to play up with challenge and counter-challenge: The TDP stuck to its plot of trying to challenge YS Jagan and force him to apologise to Pulla Rao. Chandrababu, Yanamala and Acham Naidu repeatedly taunted YS Jagan and tried to white wash the AgriGold issue. YS Jagan said the Government was trying to reduce the issue to one of challenge and counter-challenge. YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy wanted the speaker to give a ruling whether challenges and counter-challenges are acceptable. If accepted, the Government should also accept the earlier challenges thrown by YS Jagan.

Anarchy ruling roost: YSRCP MLA Roja said the government was trying to divert the issue. "We demanded that let there be a discussion on Cash for Vote. The voice in the controversial phone call to MLA has been proved as that of Chandrababu. The Apex Court has also issued a notice to them. Let there be a discussion on that," she demanded.
