The girder was installed to prevent over-height vehicles from using the bridge underpass. However, the army truck was carrying heavy equipment which increased its height considerably. Traffic on the busy Tank Bund-RP road came to a standstill for several hours. Two army jawans sustained injuries. They were rushed to the hospital by the police and passersby and their condition is stated to be out of danger.
