Akkineni Akhil is the grandson of legendary actor ANR and son of Superstar Nagarjuna. He forayed into films with 'Akhil' which failed to gather appreciation or accolades from audiences. The film became a dud at the box office. Later, he went on to feature in 'Hello' which also faced huge rejection at the box office even though the movie collected decent moolah at the box office.
The latest we hear that Nagarjuna is kene on changing Akhil’s star image in Tollywood. If sources are to be believed, Akhil will be next be seen in a romantic-action entertainer. He will soon be joining hands with director Bhaskar of Bommarillu fame. The film is expected to go on floors by end of this year.
Akhil's next movie with Bhaskar will be produced by Geetha Arts. The makers are said to have finalised Pooja Hegde as the leading lady opposite Akhil. Pooja’s career is soaring, thanks to the success of 'Maharshi' which has made her bag multiple projects with A-listers in Telugu.
The buzz in T town is that the film could be a sequel to Bhaskar’s hit movie Bommarillu. Remember how Genelia played a bubbly girl in the movie which featured Siddharth? Now, with Akhil a young face, it remains to be seen if Pooja can pay justice to the role of a young girl.
Currently, Pooja Hegde is busy with Prabhas's 'Jaan' under the direction of KK Radha Krishna. Watch this space for more.
