Grapevine suggests that Karan Johar has bagged the Hindi remake rights of 'Jersey'. The Telugu hit, a biopic of cricketer Raman Lamba starred Natural star Nani in the lead role. Jersey went on to become a huge money spinner at the box office. 'Jersey' is likely to be remade in Hindi. However, which actor will reprise Nani's role is yet to be known.
There is a huge demand for Telugu movies in Hindi market. Recently released Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Kabir Singh' has taken a flying start and doing incredible business at the box office. 'Kabir Singh' is the official remake of Telugu blockbuster hit 'Arjun Reddy', which featured Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role. There was news that KJO was eying the rights of Saaho too. But now, it appears Karan has chosen Nani over Prabhas because 'Saaho' Hindi rights were grabbed by Bhushan Kumar reportedly at a fancy price Rs 100 Crores.
Karan Johar had a fixed price of Rs 70 Cr to acquire the rights of 'Saaho', it is learned. Sadly, due to heavy competition for the much talked 'Saaho' Karan Johar couldn't strike a deal with Prabhas and 'Saaho' made its way to the hands of Bhushan Kumar.
