With Director Rajamouli making huge revelations about his forthcoming flick, RRR fans are ecstatic over the news. The movie features Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Ajay Devgan in prominent roles.

Fans have been overly curious about the roles Jr NTR and Ram Charan will be playing in the movie. Revealing all the possible news about the movie, Rajamouli shared that Jr NTR will be seen essaying the role of Komaram Bheem and Ram Charan as Alluri Seetharama Raju.

In Telugu history, Alluri Seetharama Raju has been a prominent revolutionary leader who fought in the Indian independence movement. However, not many are well-versed with the history of Komaram Bheem. Let’s learn a little about the leader who fought for the rights of the Adivasis (Tribals). At a very small age, he began the fight against the oppression of tribal people.

The present Telangana state was once a part of Nizams rule of Hyderabad state and ruled by Nawabs of Asifjahi dynasty. Komaram Bheem began the massive revolt against the Nizam government as a protest against the atrocities on the tribal population and launched the guerrilla warfare against the Nizam army. He fought for the self-governance for 12 Gond villages and even gave the popular slogan of Adivasi movements - ’Jai Jangle Zameen’ (Water, Forest, Land) which meant all the rights on the resources in the forest should be given to Adivasis.

According to the historians, he worked in tea plantations in Assam where he also learned to read and write. Having heard about Alluri Seetharama Raju, who was fighting for the Adivasi struggles in the forest, Komaram Bheem sought inspiration from him. After several failed attempts of the Nizam government to capture him, three years into the rebellion for the rights of Adivasis, he breathed his last fighting the Nizam Army in the year 1940.

In his decades-long Adivasis struggle, Komaram Bheem’s contributions remain significant.
