The highly-anticipated biopic of late Chief Minister NT Rama Rao failed to churn in the interest of the audience. Both the installments fizzled out at the box office.
The first installment, NTR Kathanayakudu collected around Rs. 20 crores in its total run and the second one, NTR Mahanayakudu which released on February 22, collected only Rs. 3 cores so far.
According to the sources, the Balakrishna-starrer has incurred a loss of around Rs. 60 crores.
In a bid to propel the prospects of TDP in the upcoming elections, the members of the Telugu Desam Party are organizing free shows of the movie for the public, as a part of the campaign. The members of the party are getting free access to the various shows across the state. TDP president in Vijayawada, Bachula Arjunudu announced that 50 percent of the tickets in the district will be allotted for party workers adding that TDP would bear the cost of these tickets.
While advising the party workers to use the tickets properly, he, however, warned that vigilance will be maintained regarding the usage of tickets. Nandigama MLA Tangirala Sowmya also implemented a similar scheme in the town. Several other TDP leaders in the state are taking up the same steps to promote the movie.
