A still from the movie - Sakshi Post

Superstar Rajinikanth is excited and happy that his latest movie Petta was received by the audiences with open arms. It has drawn huge appreciation from the Moviebuffs for its rich content and Rajini's performance in the movie. Recently, Rajinikanth expressed his gratitude to his fans and audiences for loving it and spreading positive word about the movie. Despite facing stiff competition from Ajith's Viswasam, the film is on a roll at the ticket window. Both the films are doing pretty well at the box office. It is always a surreal thing for lead cast or filmmakers when a movie is accepted and appreciated from all quarters.

Petta has grossed Rs 100 Crores at the worldwide box office within three days of its release. The film is heading towards becoming another blockbuster hit in Rajini's career as well as at Tamil Nadu box office. It is worth noting here that Petta has crossed the half-million mark at the American box office. It will soon touch $1 million mark which is likely to happen in two days. Tamil Nadu government has declared Pongal holidays and has also granted permission to hold special shows for 10 days. Petta word of the mouth is pulling crowds into theatres. Check out this tweet on Petta touching the million mark posted by film critic Ramesh Bala.
