Makers of Baahubali TV series have zeroed in on a stunning replacement for the character of 'Sivagami'. Netflix India roped in successful Tollywood directors Praveen Sattaru and Deva Katta for making the small screen version of 'Baahubali' series. However, the web series would not feature the characters of Baahubali and Bhallaladeva. Based on the book 'The Rise of Sivagami,' the Baahubali prequel's storyline would revolve around the life of Sivagami.
According to sources, television actress Mrunal Thakur will play Sivagami's role in the Baahubali Netflix series. Thakur is famous for her roles in Bollywood films Super30 and Love Sonia. Her ability to mesmerize the audience with an aggressive and strong persona made the directors bet on the actress, it is learnt.
Netflix India is planning to launch the prestigious web series in 9 episodes and across 90 foreign languages. Although Netflix's budget for the Baahubali series would not match that of the Raja Mouli directorial, the web series is being made on a relatively big budget in the online streaming market.
