Elderly Man Stabbed To Death In Kakinada

Kakinada: A 72-year-old retired bank officer was stabbed to death by three unidentified persons on Monday in Kakinada.

Balusu Suraiah, a resident of Ashok Nagar Bank colony in Kakinada had retired as a bank officer. He lived in a two-storeyed house in the colony with his wife. On Monday night a gang of assailants entered the victim's house under the pretext of taking a portion on rent on the ground floor. When Suraiah was busy showing the premises, the miscreants stabbed him with a knife.

On hearing her husband's cries, Suraiah's wife raised an alarm for help. The accused fled the spot with a laptop and cell phone. The victim died on the spot.

According to police, the old couple stayed in the house alone as their sons are abroad and a daughter is in Hyderabad. They registered a case and sent the body for postmortem.
