Delhi Wala, Agra, Bangalore Iyengar Sweet Shops Sealed For Unhygienic Kitchens

Hyderabad: Popular sweet shop Agra Sweet House was sealed by the Secunderabad Cantonment Board's (SCB) health and sanitation wing on Tuesday for unhygienic conditions.

The surprise checks conducted by the officials found that kitchen was being run from the cellar which was meant for parking and they also found a toilet closed to the kitchen premises.

Meanwhile, the SCB also sealed two other sweet shops on Monday pertaining to unhygienic conditions. The two shops are - Delhi Wala Sweet House on Sikh Road and Bangalore Iyengar Bakery at Lal Bazaar.

A Mahender, SCB in-charge for health and trade license said that apart from unhygienic conditions, Agra Sweet House was running without obtaining a trade license.

"We have issued two notices to the management of Agra Sweet House but they ignored and have been running without lincense," said Mahender.

SCB chief executive officer Sujatha Gupta said that citizens can complain to the SCB if a sweet shop is below par on hygiene standards and said that licenses will be cancelled if violations occurred again.
