Decks cleared for EAMCET counselling - Sakshi Post

Decks are cleared for EAMCET counseling in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Supreme Court passed an interim order to complete the EAMCET admissions by August 31.

The apex court ordered the Telangana government to complete the counseling process as per the earlier schedule. It also asked the authorities to follow the rules that existed in the undivided state in this matter.

The court asked the leaders not to serve their political interests at the cost of future of students. It did not agree to decide the locality on the basis 1956 as the year of domicile.

Advocate for Telangana government, Harish Salve, accepted the interim orders of the Supreme Court which deferred the next hearing in the matter to Monday.

In the wake of the order of the apex court, Telangana government is now considering the next possible legal option in the matter.

It may be reminded that Telangana government seriously objected to the decision of the higher education council to release the EAMCET counselling notification on August 7. Telangana government is seeking additional time to decide their stand on fee reimbursement of students. Hence it is demanding to postpone the counseling to October.

On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh government is feeling that the students will have to loss their academic year if the admissions are delayed.
