Darkness Covers Hyderabad Due To Cumulonimbus Clouds; Heavy Rains Forecast

Hyderabad: The city plunged into darkness this morning as Cumulonimbus clouds covered the skies and heavy rain lashed Dilsukhnagar area. Commuters are moving with the vehicles' headlights on as roads are covered with darkness even at 11am in the morning.

Normal life in LB Nagar, Kothapet, Hayath Nagar and surrounding areas was disrupted by rain during the peak traffic hours. Strong gales and heavy squalls were witnessed in several parts of city, especially Tank Bund area.

Rains up to 3-4cm are forecast for Hyderabad and other Telangana districts in coming 24 to 48 hours. Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda districts are already receiving heavy rains since this morning.

Weather office said thunderstorms are likely to affect Hyderabad, Yadadri, Peddapalli, Jagityal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Khammam, Warangal, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool and Medak districts on Wednesday. It may be accompanied with strong winds reaching 17 KNOTS or more.
