Chittoor Minor Rape Case: Suspect Sketch Released

CHITTOOR: Madanapalle DSP Ravi Manoharchari released a sketch of the suspect who was accused of allegedly raping and murdering a six-year-old girl ,on Sunday.

The minor child who belonged to B. Kottakotta Mandal of Guttappalayam in Chittoor District was taken away from KNR Convention Centre near Chenatha Nagar, where she had come to attend a wedding along with her parents On November 7th . Her parents had filed a missing complaint with the Mudivedu Police on the same day.She was later found dead in the bushes nearby the hall on November 8th. Post Mortem reports confirm that she was raped and murdered on the same day. Alcohol bottles were also found near the crime scene and police are also investigating the angle whether it was gang rape or only by the man seen in the CCTV footage recovered from the wedding hall.

Based on the footage from the CCTV camera and by the description given by the people who had seen him in the function hall, the police have the sketch of the accused, the DSP said. The DSP said that the sketch and video footage images have been sent to the press on Sunday and if anyone comes across a person with similar features, they should immediately alert the police, he said. The DSP said that the names of the informants would be kept confidential.

It may be recollected that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy condemned the heinous crime of rape and murder of the six-year-old girl and ordered police to arrest the rapists at the earliest and promised stern action against the accused according to the law.
