Hyderabad: A cab driver found a man stuck under his vehicle when he approached ORR toll plaza near the airport in Hyderabad on Wednesday night.

According to Shamshabad police, the man was later taken to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. He has been identified as Yadaiah, 45, who was working at the RGIA cargo facility.

Shamshabad inspector R Venkatesh told a daily that at around 10.30 pm, the driver Hyder Ali, at the ORR toll booth slowed down his car and came across a speed breaker when he noticed that a man was being dragged under his car.

Tollbooth later staff called the police.

Police found that the bike of the victim was 2 km away from the toll booth and the front portion of the bike was damaged. Yadaiah was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The investigation is on whether the cab hit the car and dragged him till ORR toll booth or it was another vehicle. CCTV footages of the area are also not clear due to heavy rains and low visibility, police said.

The cab driver has been taken into custody and case registered under Section 304 A of the IPC, which relates to causing death by negligence.

The body was later handed to the family after post-mortem.
