TDP Attack: 3 YSRCP Activists Seriously Injured In Nellore

Nellore: Three YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) activists were attacked indiscriminately by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members with swords on Saturday. The YSRCP leaders were seriously injured in the attack and one of them is said to be in a critical condition.

The incident took place at Talamanchi at Kodavaluru mandal in Nellore district. The incident occurred due to old enmities between Kamatham Sivakrishna who belonged to Talamanchi Dalitavada and Chinta Ravi from the same area. Chinta Ravi was working as a shift operator at the Padmanabhasatram Electric Sub Station.

As per details, a statue of Lord Ganesh was installed in Talamanchi last Wednesday, under the aegis of Sivakrishna. As it was a week-long festivity, Sivakrishna was staying with his friends in the temple vicinity.

Taking advantage of this Chinta Ravi attacked Sivakrishna and his aides with swords and along with his followers on Saturday night, in a pre-planned attack. Sivakrishna's chin and neck was severed in the attack.While his other friend Vakati Manindra suffered serious injuries to the head and Kamatam Manindra on his shoulder. Sivakrishna was taken to a private hospital in Nellore but as his condition turned critical, he was shifted to Chennai for further treatment.

A complaint was filed at the police station on Sunday. Chinta Ravi and his aides Chinta Madhav, Chinta Prasad, Chinta Naresh, Chevuru Venkateshwarulu and Chevuru Nagendra have been charged with murder, said SI P Srinivasulu Reddy.
