Amroha: A woman alleged that she was abducted and gang-raped by four men at Dhanaura in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district on Saturday night. She also accused Amroha police of inaction in the case as initially they refused to file a FIR. Later, Amroha police superintendent Vipin Tada was quoted saying that a case has been registered.

While two have been detained for interrogation, the other two are absconding.

Tada said that the accused and the woman belonged to the same community and initial investigation has revealed that there was enmity between them.

On Sunday, Tada had said that the woman's allegation was concocted. He said that the matter was not as was reported by her and she, along with her husband and father had all left the village.

He also added that woman's medical examination could not be conducted in the night as she could not be traced in the morning.

Further investigation is underway.
