YSR District: A man who was set to get hitched at the end of this month has been murdered brutally on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Sheikh Abdul Khadir (26) was working in Bengaluru as a software engineer. Recently, his marriage alliance was fixed and the date was set to June 23.

On the eve of Eid, he was on a visit to Railway Koduru on Wednesday to celebrate the festival with his family. However, as soon as he reached the Sri Krishna Cinema Hall, the victim was attacked in the early hours of Wednesday by some unknown assailants.

The victim was assaulted and stabbed repeatedly by the assailants with sickles and knives. Khadir suffered severe injuries on his face and neck and succumbed to death instantly.

The police who received the information immediately arrived at the spot and gathered the evidence. The police suspect that the software engineer was murdered by people who opposed his marriage.

A case has been registered and the police are investigating. Both the families are in deep shock over the tragedy taking place, just days before the wedding.
