Panama Axis Bank ATM Robbed In Broad Daylight, Rs 58.9 Lakh Stolen From Cash Van

Hyderabad: A manhunt has been launched for the gang involving six to eight members who robbed a cash van in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The incident took place 10:20 am when the cash van was parked Axis bank ATM at Panama junction in Vanasthalipuram.

According to the police, the driver of the vehicle was filming the two technicians loading the cash into the Axis bank ATM while the iron chest containing Rs 58.9 lakh for other ATMs was guarded by another security person.

The gang diverted the attention of the security guard in charge of the ATM chest by claiming that his team had dropped few notes on their way to ATM. Subsequently, the guard got down from the vehicle as the gang members stole the iron chest carrying the money from the van. A total of six to eight members were involved in the ATM robbery.

Based on the CCTV footage, the police are on the lookout for the suspects, who absconded in an auto-rickshaw. A case of armed robbery has been registered by the police.
