B.Tech Student Strangles Friend To Death Over Mobile Phone Money - Sakshi Post

Sangareddy: In a tragic incident, a B.Tech student was found dead in a river in Patancheru Mandal on Tuesday evening.

The victim, Pithani Goutham (18) resided in ITW Signode colony under Ameenpur police station limits and was pursuing engineering first-year at MLR engineering college.

According to the police, Goutham went out with his friends on Monday and the next day morning, he was found dead in the river.

It is learned that Goutham had loaned Rs 8,000 to his friend Pavan to order a mobile phone via an e-commerce site.

However, instead of purchasing the mobile phone with the amount, Pavan reportedly spent the money. Upset over the same, Goutham got into a huge argument with Pavan which resulted in the latter holding a grudge on his friend.

On Monday, the victim went out with his friends including Pavan, who along with another friend, Khasim strangled Goutham to death. The duo then disposed of the body in the river. The police filed a case based on the complaint registered by Goutham's parents. The two accused, Pavan and Khasim have been arrested by the police.
