Many Injured After Sri Chaitanya School Bus Rams Into Vehicles In Vijayawada

The Sri Chaitanya School bus rammed into several vehicles in Vijayawada - Sakshi Post

Satyanarayanapuram: A bus belonging to Sri Chaitanya School created havoc in Vijayawada in the early hours of Friday.

Due to the reckless driving of the bus driver, several sustained injuries after the bus struck down many vehicles.

The injured persons were rushed to the nearby hospital where they were treated. The Satyanarayanapuram police officials have registered a case in this regard and are investigating. As per the details provided by the locals and police, the driver of the Sri Chaitanya High School Bus (AP166TJ 6505), Maruti Nagar Branch, P Durga Rao (30) on Friday morning at 8 am headed from Maruti Nagar. He picked up students from Rajivnagar, Singhnagar, Andhra Prabha colony and Sithannapeta.

At 8.22 am, the driver approached the Sharada College center on the BRTS road and speeded up the bus despite the road occupied with vehicles. The driver, first hit the traffic barricade followed by two bicycles, auto-rickshaws, fruit vendor's vehicle. In this incident, Sheikh Mastanvali (66) sustained critical injuries and local residents rushed him to the hospital. An auto-rickshaw was completely damaged in the accident. The driver then left the bus on the road and absconded. The police seized the bus and are searching for the bus driver.

Assistant motor vehicle inspector of the transport department, Jayachandra Babu, who examined the bus told that the bus brakes had not failed, which was speculated earlier as the reason for the accident.
