Vellore: A woman and her lover killed a couple at Tirupattur, Tamilnadu. According to the police, Shanmugam (40) is a farmer who lives in Eechaneri of Tirupattur. He and his wife Kala had two children.

Meanwhile, Kala met Ekambaram, who lived in the same village. They soon got into an extra-marital affair. Shanmugam learned of the matter and warned his wife. Last year, Kala and her lover fled to Kerala.

Shanmugam married another woman Sujatha (30) six months ago. Kala learned of the marriage and came to the village from Kerala along with her lover. She demanded that he take her back into his house. When Kala saw the newly weds bonding well and in harmony, she could not digest it. She killed Shanmugam and Sujatha with the help of her lover.

On Thursday night, while Shanmugam and Sujatha were sleeping, Ekambaram and his followers hit the couple on their head with an iron rod. Next day morning, the locals found them dead and informed the police who arrested Kala and one of the accused. The police filed a case and started investigating. The hunt is on to nab Ekambaram, who is absconding.
