KOLKATA: As the city of Joy has turned pinked ahead of the day-night Test cricket in the city, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has shared a picture of sweets which have also turned pink.

"Sweets go pink in Kolkata," Ganguly tweeted the picture of the sweet, locally called sandesh- a dessert which has originated from the Bengal region.

Within moments, the former Indian team captain posted another picture of a sweet which has turned pink in colour.

Indian cricket will finally embrace the pink revolution after initial reluctance when Virat Kohli's seemingly infallible galacticos lock horns with a deflated Bangladesh in their maiden Day/Night Test starting here on Friday.

It took India a new BCCI regime under maverick former captain Sourav Ganguly to take the pink ball plunge, a good seven years after the International Cricket Council approved the format to revive interest in Tests.

So far, 11 Day/Night Tests have been played worldwide since Australia set the ball rolling against their Trans-Tasmanian rivals New Zealand four years ago in Adelaide.
