New Delhi: Sarah Taylor, regarded as one of the finest women's wicket-keeper has bared it all for a cause she believes in. She shared her nude photoshoot on Instagram which has left many baffled.
She says that her intention behind the shoot was to unmask the taboo attached to body and the issues that come with it. Taylor said that she took up the photoshoot despite it not being in her comfort zone.
Taylor's instagram caption reads, "Anyone that knows me will know that this is a little out of my comfort zone, but I’m so proud of myself and grateful to @womenshealthuk for inviting me to be a part of this issue. I’ve always had issues with my body and I had to get over a few in order to do this and it was completely empowering. Every other girl looks stunning! Please remember EVERY woman is BEAUTIFUL. Thank you to everyone involved!”
Taylor has been battling depression since 2013 and the Sussex cricketer has been quite open about it to create an awareness on mental health issues. She also took a break from all forms of cricket to heal.
Taylor made her international debut at the age of 17. At the age of 19, she was the youngest woman to score 1,000 ODI runs.
Meanwhile, Taylor who was part of the England’s World Cup-winning team in 2017 Women’s World Cup, has pulled out of this year's world cup.
She also withdrew from the Women’s Ashes 2019 against Australia. “I don’t want people to feel this is exactly the same. There are plenty of challenges I’ve overcome on the way but mental health is not something you ‘beat’,” she was quoted saying by a sports web portal.
