Hyderabad: The city police are observing police commemoration week from October 15. As part of its various contests, including painting and cartoon drawing, elocution and essay-writing, are being held.  

The painting and cartoon drawing competition along with essay writing will be conducted on October 16 from 10.30 am -12.30 pm and 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm respectively. Elocution competition and the prize distribution ceremony will be held on October 17.The former would be conducted from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. The competitions will be held at Jawahar Bala Bhavan, Public gardens, Nampally and the prize distribution ceremony will take place at Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium at Public gardens from 3.00 pm.

The topic for essay writing and elocution is ‘Role of citizens in maintaining communal harmony’. Citizen Friendly Policing is the theme for cartoon drawing competition. Cash prize given to the winners is Rs. 5000/- for the first prize, Rs. 3000/- for the second and Rs. 2000/- for the third.
