Congress MLA from Kamalapuram Veera Siva Reddy created a high drama at the Kadapa DCCB premises on Tuesday when the YSRCP workers staging dharna under the leadership of Former minister and YSRCP leader, YS Vivekananda Reddy demanding immediate election of DCCB chairman.

The DCCB election was allegedly put off in Kadapa fearing defeat, they alleged and said the Congress leaders claimed that the election was stalled owing to kidnap of cooperative officer.

Alleging it was the handiwork of MLA Veera Siva Reddy, the YSRCP leaders protested at the DCCB bank. Vivekananda Reddy alleged that with fear of defeat the Congress party resorted to kidnap drama. He demanded that the election should be held immediately and threatened to commit suicide, if failed to do it.

High tension prevailed at the DCCB office after a tussle between Veera Shiva Reddy and the YSRCP leaders. When Veera Siva Reddy challenged the YSRCP workers to face him if they have guts, there was a huge commotion. The YSRCP leaders condemned the behavior of the Congress MLA and said the MLA acted like a faction leader. They also demanded action against the MLA for his rude behavior.

They alleged that Veera Siva Reddy’s henchmen kidnapped the cooperative officer to get the elections postponed. The YSRCP leaders complained to this effect to the District Collector. Alleging that the Congress party was misusing its power, YSRCP MLAs Srikanth Reddy, Amaranath Reddy and ex-MLA Raghuram Reddy staged protest rally.
