Android phones get Google Lens through Google Photos app - Sakshi Post

Google is officially rolling out its Google Lens out to Android phones that have the Google Photos app installed. Android users will be able to scan things through the app to receive information, like a tourist place or a fruit.

The Lens app allows its users to create a contact from a business card. The app also identifies a landmark for the user. It is learnt that certain phones will eventually be able to access Lens through the Google Assistant, too, including flagship smart phones from Samsung, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Sony, and HMD (Nokia).

Starting today, Google plans to roll out Lens in stages and in select devices. Therefore, not all devices will get the update at the same time.

At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona, Google has announced its plans to roll out the much awaited application.

Lens is designed to make sense of the visual world, according to its designers. Work is underway to make Google’s visual search function easily identify and annotate all objects.
