AMARAVATI : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy challenged opposition leader and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu to prove the allegations TDP made against him about the implementation of English Medium in government schools.
Speaking at the fourth day of the Assembly Winter Session during the discussion hour of the AP School Education Regulatory & Monitoring Bill, YS Jagan strongly objected to Chandrababu's comments that he had opposed the implementation of English medium in AP while he was in opposition.
"Did I ever oppose the implementation of English as Medium schools," questioned AP CM. YS Jagan challenged Chandrababu Naidu to show any evidence if he had ever made such statements.
"What did you do for the Implementation of English Medium in government schools as CM of the state in five years of power?" questioned the YSR Congress Party chief.
He said that Chandrababu Naidu did not take any action for the betterment of school education even though 66% of the government schools continued to run in Telugu medium during his regime, which was very shameful.
In response to Chandrababu's comments on media, YS Jagan said that media was a system and how could he (Chandrababu) attribute everything written in it to us, he questioned.
In a parting shot, he said that if we start discussing the news items published in Eenadu paper, then Chandrababu would not be able to sit in the Assembly.
